Defibrillators Australia Successfully Completes Ausgrid AED Fleet Upgrade

Defibrillators Australia is proud to announce the successful completion of the nationwide rollout of more than 900 LIFEPAK CR2 Cellular Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) across Ausgrid’s operational network.

Following our earlier announcement of the partnership, the rollout has now been fully delivered, equipping Ausgrid teams with one of the most advanced connected defibrillator systems available.

This milestone marks a significant achievement for both organisations and reinforces the importance of proactive safety measures across critical infrastructure networks.

Delivering One of Australia’s Largest AED Fleet Upgrades

Ausgrid operates one of Australia’s largest electricity distribution networks, servicing millions of homes and businesses across New South Wales. Their operations extend across urban, regional, and remote environments, making reliability and rapid emergency response capability essential.

To ensure the highest level of preparedness, Ausgrid selected the LIFEPAK CR2 Cellular AED, a device known for its advanced connectivity, ease of use, and ability to support fleet-wide monitoring.

Over the course of the rollout, Defibrillators Australia coordinated the deployment of more than 900 AED units, ensuring each site was equipped with modern lifesaving technology ready for immediate use.

Why the LIFEPAK CR2 Cellular Was Selected

The LIFEPAK CR2 Cellular AED provides several key advantages for large organisations managing multiple locations.

Key features include:

  • Cellular connectivity allowing real-time monitoring of device readiness
  • Automatic self-testing to ensure the device is always rescue-ready
  • Integrated fleet management capabilities
  • Simple operation designed for use by both trained and untrained responders
  • Clear voice prompts and CPR guidance

These features allow organisations like Ausgrid to maintain confidence that their defibrillators are always operational across large and complex networks.

Supporting Critical Infrastructure Safety

For organisations operating essential services, emergency preparedness is a key responsibility.

The rollout of connected AED technology provides:

  • Greater visibility over device status
  • Reduced maintenance risks
  • Faster response in the event of sudden cardiac arrest
  • Improved safety for both staff and the public

Sudden cardiac arrest remains one of the leading causes of death in Australia, and having a defibrillator available within the first few minutes can dramatically increase survival rates.

A Major Milestone for Defibrillators Australia

Completing this rollout represents one of the largest connected AED deployments in Australia and highlights Defibrillators Australia’s capability to support large-scale safety programs across complex organisations.

From project planning and device supply through to deployment and ongoing support, our team worked closely with Ausgrid to ensure a smooth and successful implementation.

We are proud to play a role in strengthening emergency preparedness across such an important national infrastructure network.

Supporting Organisations Across Australia

Defibrillators Australia works with organisations of all sizes, from small businesses through to national infrastructure providers, helping them implement reliable AED programs that protect staff, visitors, and the broader community.

Whether you need a single defibrillator for a workplace or a fleet solution across multiple locations, our team can provide expert advice on selecting, deploying, and managing AEDs.
